Listen to “Cities” by Anberlin

Saturday, February 17th, 2007 at about 8:34 am

While none of the 10 songs Anberlin put on their new album Cities are currently available for download, all of them are available for your listening pleasure on their MySpace page.

If you’ve ever said “I wish I could hear this album before I buy it”, then this is a great opportunity. I haven’t heard much of Anberlin’s music, and I’m taking full advantage.

Go listen!

mp3: Free Music Friday

Friday, February 16th, 2007 at about 10:52 am

I feel the need to apologize for the lack of posting. My web design business is keeping me very busy at the moment, and I hope to get back to posting new free mp3s soon.

In the meantime, you might want to stop by My Free Music Friday to download free songs from:

Skillet
High Flight Society
The Wedding

I’ll see you again soon!

Artist: Connersvine

Thursday, February 8th, 2007 at about 11:47 am

A new duo is hitting the stage: Chris Wilson and a punter.

Wilson and Hunter Smith, punter for the Super-Bowl-winning World Champion Indianapolis Colts (go Seahawks), has been leading worship at his church for several years. They’ve formed a group called Connersvine, and their EP is now available.

After a quick listen on their MySpace page, I like what I hear. They’ve impressed others as well…they’ve apparently signed a contract with INO Records, joining the likes of Derek Webb and Anthony Evans and Chris Rice and The Afters and Mercy Me.

I’m looking forward to hearing more from them. Congratulations on your big win, Hunter!

mp3: Daniel McLaughlin

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 at about 2:48 pm

Free mp3 of Maker of All from Daniel McLaughlin. Daniel is a new friend of mine, and I hope you’ll all take the time to listen to his song.

Daniel will be at a “Concert of Prayer” at Greenway Spirit and Worship in Winchester Va. on March 4th at 6pm. This is more of a worship event, and a great opportunity to connect with both Daniel and other Christians in the area.

Interview & mp3: Andrew Osenga

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 at about 8:06 am

Kat is a new friend, and a loyal CCM Links reader…and she’s a great music resource. I may be blogging about her blog on a regular basis, so you might as well get over there now (in case you’re not already a loyal reader like I am).

Why now? Because…she posted a nice interview with Andrew Osenga. He’s part of one of my very favorite bands, Caedmon’s Call, a solo artist, and a founding member of The Normals. Learn a little about Kat, a little about Andrew, and follow Kat’s link to Andrew’s free mp3, After the Garden.

Don’t forget to look at her Recent Posts section to see what you may have missed recently: free mp3s from Shaun Groves and Katy Bowser.

Thanks, Kat…

Free Concert: Michael Olson

Monday, February 5th, 2007 at about 2:11 pm

Michael Olson is doing a show this Sunday night at 7pm at New River Fellowship in Franklin, TN. This is absolutely free and all are invited! For those who need directions, here’s a map, and here’s their address:

New River Fellowship
1097 Murfreesboro Road
Franklin, TN 37064

I’m a little jealous, since I’ve been looking forward to hearing Michael live. For those who don’t know, New River is Michael W. Smith’s church. Michael is, of course, one of my Shoutlife Friends. I know that doesn’t mean anything, but it’s fun to say.

Shoutlife

Friday, February 2nd, 2007 at about 3:56 pm

Okay…I finally did it. I created my very own profile on Shoutlife. I really did it to listen to some new Stryper tunes, but I’ve been thinking that I might want a Shoutlife profile for a while. For those who don’t know, it’s a “Christian alternative to MySpace”.

Having never been part of the whole MySpace thing (why would a web designer need a do-it-yourself web page maker?), I didn’t know what to expect. Within an hour, I’m in two groups, have 17 friends, and a good start on my guestbook. I had no idea that people would be looking for new folks to join and welcoming them right away. How refreshing!

Despite having the immensely talented Keith Lancaster add me to his friends list, I’d like to give a shout-out to Hoi. She was the first to say hello, and I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality of her music. I’ve added her to my artist pages, and hope to be able to bring you some free music from her in the near future.
