Spread the Word

Saturday, December 9th, 2006 at about 3:01 pm

No, I’m not talking about the Bible…though that’s good too.
I’m talking about spreading the word about CCM Links. Yes, this is a shameless plug. I want more traffic. This site exists to promote Christian music. I can’t do it alone…would you take the time to spread the word today?

Paste this link into an email to several friends: http://www.ccmlinks.com/. You’ll be doing me and them a huge favor…who doesn’t want good free music? If you have a blog, I’d appreciate a mention…give your readers the gift of a free mp3 or two. They’ll thank you for it.

So will I!

News: Grammy Nominations

Friday, December 8th, 2006 at about 10:55 am

A couple of days ago, I told you that Red was pretty good. I’m not the only one who thinks so. They’ve been nominated for a Grammy!

The category? Best Rock Or Rap Gospel Album for their debut recording, End of Silence.

Visit their listing on the official Grammy page just because you can.

Visit their website because it’s very well-done.
Visit their MySpace page because I told you to…and because you can drop them a line. They answer each and every email personally, so if you’re a fan you might want to do it now before their popularity makes it impossible.

Also listed in this category:

DecembeRadio
…for their debut album DecembeRadio.
[MusicMan says: I really like these guys]

Sarah Kelly
…for her album Where The Past Meets Today.

Jonny Lang
…for his album Turn Around.
[MusicMan says: This guy is unbelievable. He’s not in the regular artist listings because his music career doesn’t appear to be a clear expression of his Christian faith…but, because of his faith and because he’s just so amazingly great, I offer his link here for your convenience.]

T-Bone
…for his album Bone-A-Fide.

Congratulations to all!

mp3: Amy Gann

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 at about 9:12 am

I’m often a little surprised at how I find artists to add to CCM Links. One link leads to another, and another, and another. Today’s find is Amy Gann.

Amy is the daughter of Calvin Gann, of The Gann Brothers. She’s a new artist, so there’s not much to talk about…yet. Her debut album seems well-received, and she’s got music connections, which never hurts.

You can hear and download her first single, When Heaven Smiles, by visiting Amy’s MySpace page. It’s a good song, and country artist Brent Rader joins her for the duet. Give it a listen and see if you like it as much as I do.

Video: Red

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006 at about 7:44 am

Red is back from Germany, where they had a great tour. They report that their single Breathe Into Me will hit radio stations in February…but you can hear it now on their website.

Better than that, you can WATCH it. They’ve put up the Breathe Into Me video, which is pretty well-done…if you’ve been looking for a new hard-hitting band, Red just might be it. Their video is WMV, so you’ll need Windows Media Player (or an equivalent)…those who have it can double-click and view the video full screen. Nice.

Go see it.

Podcast: Acappella

Sunday, December 3rd, 2006 at about 3:43 pm

I’ve been trying to include interesting Christian Music stuff that’s not free mp3s…and here’s another category: the podcast. The first comes from one of my all-time favorite groups, Acappella.

I’ve looked over their website for a page detailing the poscast, but can’t find one. Instead, I’ll have to just post the address of their podcast feed.

Right-Click, Copy the Shortcut, and paste it into your feed reader.
. . . . . . .
or

Here’s a direct link.
